Hello,
I have other distros like redhat. Do I have to download the kde desktop
or can I use one of these disks and install kde from there?
Thanks

The "other disks" are pre-compiled versions and also use their own package management scheme. While it may be possible to install from other distros, it's not worth the trouble. Just download and compile; Portage will be happy, and it'll use your optimizations. |

Thanks,
I was trying to avoid the long download.
I'm not sure if my other distro's have source for kde.
