|
|
Hi,
I've just reinstalled gentoo on my laptop and happily have XFree4.3 working nicely. The one thing I am struggling with is getting the xv (XVideo) driver to work. I think I have the xv flag set when I installed xfree but I'll try rebuilding Xfree tonight just in case.
Does anybody know if xv will work on a neomagic card - and does anybody have it working. I've had a look through the XFree log an when I specify option "Xv" it says that it doesn't exist.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.
Regards

XFree 4.2.1-r2 has Xv support for neomagic, I think I saw a patch download when installing.

Thanks Jeroen, I'll give 4.2.1-r2 a try - serves me right for trying to get cutting edge stuff working on my humble little laptop.
Cheers. |

And I got the shape extension working when I ran xf86config again. I'll stick with 4.2 until there is a compelling reason to upgrade to 4.3. |
