A post mine has been closed without any reason!

This is a serie of private messages between 'pjp' and me:

pjp wrote:
If you take a look at these results, you'll notice quite a few of your posts in the Dustbin. Please do not SPAM the forums by advertising your site, crosspost to multiple forums, or post english to non-english forums.

Thanks.

DremK wrote:

I post english to non-english forums to getting information about its locales. Sorry!

I made SPAM by advertising my site in the next forum:
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-239979-postdays-0-postorder-asc-start-0.html
Sorry! I can delete/edit it

but, don't here:
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-1675190-highlight-.html#1675190
and you closed this post without any reason.

With make crosspost to multiple forums, do you talk about to create post in Spanish and another one in English about the same?

I would like to be able to continue writing in those posts to don't have to create them, do you can solve it? Please
Thanks!

pjp wrote:
I've asked for input from spanish speaking moderators. After I've heard from them, I'll let you know. Probably within a couple of days.

This last post hasn't been sent to 'pjp' because it's on my exit tray from yesterday.
DremK wrote:
You closed my post in english. I return to you to repeat that in that post there is not Spam
I will create a new post about this project in English. I hope that you don't close it.

There was spam in the spanish post. But I wann't recover that post. Thanks in any case

By the way, I believe that before writing a message in some post with "Do not Spam the forums", it would be better if you wrote to him directly to the person by private message.

I am sure that the people will not return it to do and will erase that message.

Thanks!

I want to make clear that in no case I had intention to do all this of which I am accused.

Another thing that I want to leave very clear:
Before of you write a message in some post with "Do not Spam the forums", it would be better if you wrote to him directly to the person by private message.

And by the way no longer I wann't to recover those forums, and less with a message than it leaves me as if I were a spammer.
I now prefer to create a new one.

Thanks!

The reason is spam. You are obviously disputing that. And as I alreay indicated, we're discussing it. So whats the reason for publicly posting the PMs?

I consider it disrespectful, and it doesn't do much to change my opinion on your posts being spam.

Let's go to see if it's clear.

You closed this post with the excuse of the spam:
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-1675190-highlight-.html#1675190

Where is the spam in that post?
Because in that post there wasn't Spam

An author search on DremK, specifying the Dustbin forum reveals these threads, which werre posted across various forums. I'd forgotten about them until another moderator pointed me to the old thread from when they were originally put into the dustbin. Thats why its spam.

So, thanks for making me dig up the reason. No need to reply, just don't spam the forums.

Well... it's not exactly spam - but it is annoying.

I personally find the "posting non-E to E / E to non-E forums" much more annoying than a single polite announcement of a side-project.
Okay, in this case it's not a single post, but still...

Many people creating their own kernel patchsets, for example, are not put down like this - they tend to be encouraged, even.

So should this sort of project go in Unsupported, or ...?

Thank heavens that I have something of reason. I felt myself quite impotent.

And I continue thinking that although it had been spam, would be better if you noticed that person to dont' send spam, although it was only the first time.

Oh don't kid yourself - posting non-English to English forums and vice versa is a very definite no-no.
Please take some time to read the Forum Guidelines (and some netiquette FAQs), then by all means come back.

It is a form of spam (wikipedia): Spamming is the use of any electronic communications medium to send unsolicited messages in bulk. ... people have done things comparable to spamming for many purposes other than the commercial, and in many media other than e-mail. In this article and those related, the term spamming is used broadly to refer to all of these behaviors, regardless of medium and commercial intent.

I would also add that "bulk" is subjective, and is at a minimum warned as a no no under crossposting rules. So, spam AND crossposting.

If its a project outside of Gentoo, it goes to Off The Wall. If ebuilds are created, Unsupported (until the ebuilds become official).

You have been mistaken in that.

Ebuild for a Live-CD? Apart from that, this forum didn't exist back then when your posts were moved. Now please stop splitting hair and accept the fact that your posts were moved to the Dustbin because you were abusing the forums by massive crossposting.

Who has said e-build for a live-CD?
'Unsupported Software' forum covers all gentoo-related software not officially supported by gentoo. Ebuilds/software

Simply I'm making the things clear. Or perhaps it's more comfortable than I close the mouth and it already is.

I'll try to make it more clear for you then:

You're not splitting hairs, you're being disingenuous.
As amne already stated, your posts were moved to the dustbin before the Unsupported forum was created.
Ergo, anything in relation to both of the offences mentioned above should either have gone in OTW or not been posted in the first place.

I hope that clears things up for you.

That's right - they're not.
Forum mods and admins take good care of the forum rules, because they have a responsibility to.
You, however, have a nit to pick - and show very little regard for that responsibility.

Why should the rules or their application be equal ?

Now one accuses to me that I am a false person.
Let's go to see if it is clear.

I at no moment have said that my post were make in Unsupported forum
I say the description of the forums to clarify that pjp had been mistaken

I didn't say you were "false" - I said you were being disingenuous.
Exactly why I said that is left as an exercise for the reader.

You keep repeating that the Keeper of these forums is mistaken in his response to your actions.
Here's a hint: he can't be - without him and the others like him there wouldn't be a forum.

Now please go complain elsewhere.

Excuse that I says to you but simply I'm defending myself and leaving the things clear. In case you haven't paid attention, I don't discuss about if my posts were Spam.

I'm in agree in which it was Spam. But I'm not to shut up to me with other things that they aren't truth, for that reason I corrected pjp.

Corrected!

My excuses!

Those last two posts read like they've been mangled through Babelfish - did you use a translator for them ?
Then at least a part of your difficulties may stem from language misunderstandings.

I used Babelfish because I wanted answer fast. But they are already corrected.

Oh, for the love of Benji. Can we have this thread disposed of too? I know I could just ignore it, but methinks there's been enough flamage.

I am not mistaken. What I wrote matches the description, though perhaps there is a language barrier. If anyone creates a product that uses Gentoo (example, vidalinux) then it does not belong in Unsupported software. It belongs in OTW. Let me know by PM if there is anything else I can do to help you understand it more clearly.
