|
|
When using mc in a vt it causes the system to lock up solidly after giving any command on the command line. The last thing shown on the screen is "Press any key". This happens for any user. It does not happen when using mc in an xterm on the KDE desktop.
Nobody else seems to have reported this behaviour, any clues anyone?

just a guess (no lockups here) but emerge mc using -X -gpm and see if problem persists.
OTOH you could post your USEflags.
the output of "emerge info" might stop us guessing what system you run |

No luck with -X -gpm, it still locks up. Is there an alternative to mc for console use?
Anyway here is the output of emerge info:

I added the following USE flags to my make.conf:
gpm X nls slang unicode
and re-merged mc. Now all is well. Dunno which one fixed the freeze. |
