OK, currently, I'm running XFree 4.2.99r4. I am also using Fluxbox, which I've been using for quite some time and quite simply love. I also have phoenix-cvs installed. And GTK2. And Gnome 2.2. And Xft2. And Gaim-cvs. and a few other similar apps (then again, there is nothing similar about most of those apps). Anyway, here is my problem. All of my apps look great, except for some of the GTK2 apps. Specifically Gaim-cvs. I ran swtich2 and changed my font to something larger (since the one it is using is small) and that made the fonts in the conversation a little more readable, but it still left all of the dialog boxes, buddy lists, and eveything else teeny tiny and rather difficult to read. Also, none of my themes seem to actually "work" and take effect. Is there a way to make this work out under flux? Or do I have to bite the bullet and give in to Gnome 2.2? For me, I would love it if there was a way to get GTK themeing to work and work well with fluxbox and all of my newer apps (this doesn't seem too "out there" to me, but who knows). Anyhow, any and all help is appreciated.

thanks,

-John

I've read that thread already, and that has workarounds, but I'm looking for a real solution. I want things to just work. Yes, linux is a "Hacker's OS" (total flamebait there), but that doesn't mean that everything should be a hack.
