Emerge Sync error after Emerge -u system!

After doing an emerge -u system which upgraded Portage and GCC to 3.2.2 I get this.....

On about the third retry it works. Is this a client problem or server problem perhaps? Any ideas?

Did another emerge rsync a couple of minutes ago and it worked straight off. Different rsync mirror though so I'm assuming that perhaps this was a server issue?
