Ok I feel like I am in the dark on something cause I searched and searched and couldn't find an answer to this question. How the hell am I suppost to install gentoo from this live cd when I don't have access to any of the drives??? At first I thought it didnt have any of the right commands from the handbook but then I found em in sbin.... Can someone please tell me what I dont know so I can gentoo back on my box? haha

Thank you,

Are you using lxnay's Reiser4 CD? What exactly is the problem? Are you not able to mount your partitions? Did you do mkfs.reiser4 /dev/hd??? Try the "FASTBOOT" option.

Yea I'm using the RR4 livecd[/code]

I'm not able to gain root access to format or mount drives.
Code:

$ /sbin/fdisk /dev/hda
Unable to open /dev/hda

I can't su either because there it keeps telling me I have the wrong root passwd. I even tried leaving it blank.

Code:

(tried this even though it comes later in the gentoo install process)

$ mount /dev/hda3 /mnt/gentoo
mount: only root can do that

Thanks

When I used it I had root by default ..... however the hostname is the root password tecnico I think.

I don't know if it's just me or not but Reiser4 with nitro-sources seem SO much faster ..... let me know if you get the same kind of results

it's not just you :)

Love or Nitro is WAY faster then mm-sources with reiser4. I guess the love / nitro devs use newer snapshots :)
