Why does the installation is so much complicated!?
I am working with redhat linux about month and i like to work with Gentoo,
I like the KDE and Redhat are very low on support for it.
I am really like to start work with Gentoo, but the installation is very complicated and i'm has a terrible english.

There is any more easy installation!?

Man, its not difficult at all !!!
I worked with redhat about 1 ~ 1.5 years and then i decided to change the f.**** distr. to better one.

At the beginning i did not know shit about it.
I've printed the docs from gentoo`s site and i did it step by step.
I visited the forum every day, i asked a lot of question ( sorry if i've disturbed any one in here :-) ) and now believe me I've got 3 Gentoo mashines both home and work.
What i never learned with redhat in aprox. 2 years i got with Gentoo in one month.

you're welcome

If i tlel the true, Gentoo is look very good Distr.
But, i have some question,
a) I dont know how to scroll in the konsole or to do something like:
"dir /p" that i could see all the files because i cant see everything.

b) I have windows XP, and because i cant delete my windows because my parents need sometimes my computer, and i cant leave "The sims", so it's possible to save it?

c) I download the big ISO (more than 100 MB), Does i need to connect the internet too or it's an offline installation??

d) Is this come with some own utilities like in RH, there is The Redhat User managment, or the printer utility.........

I really need some help, and soon, lucky that someone still awake, where i live its afternoon, and were you live it's probably night!!

Ok:

b) You can leave Windows partition intact and install Gentoo on a different partition and choose wich OS you want to use at boot time.

c) You can install Gentoo from this CD. You need Internet if you want to install X manager and other application (like Gnome,KDE,...) but in a second moment.

d) I don[t know what RHUM do but you can configure printing using CUPS and there are a lot of other tools you can use.

There is at least one person I know of working on a fully-automated Gentoo installation. It's still in development, however.

Gentoo depends heavily on a broadband internet connection -- it sounds like it is not a good choice for you given your modem connection.

Use what is called a "paging" program in linux. 'more' is the most common one, though I prefer 'less'. A couple examples on how to use it:

Code:
ls -al | less

Code:
less mytextfile.txt

play around with it and you'll get the hang of how to use it.
