Help with creation, editing, or playback of sounds, images, or video. Amarok, audacious, mplayer, grip, cdparanoia and anything else that makes a sound or plays a video.
gentoo is amazing, i'm really impressed with the amount of work gone into this distribution.
anyways... i'm having trouble with mozilla and xmms running shoutcast streams. with the information provided at xmms.org, i set up the file and mime types in mozilla but instead of opening the shoutcast links in xmms, i get a save dialog box. i can't for the life of me figure out what i'm doing wrong. have any of you users out there come across this? i'm currently using the latest ebuilds of mozilla and xmms. any help with this would be swell.
thanks for the snappy reply. i tried the /usr/bin/xmms as the handler and still i get the save dialog box... any ideas? could it have something to do with the ebuild that i used?
Well I also get the open / save dialog, then I just unselect the option "always ask before opening......". But I think you would have figured this out by yourself so I still think xmms doesn't work. My settings:
Extension: m3u
MIME type: audio/x-scpls
Handled by: /usr/bin/xmms

i changed the file type from pls to m3u like you and i still get the save dialog box. frustration cannot describe my mental state... what builds are you using for mozilla and xmms?
