Hi everyone! I'm trying to understand how the XftConfig config file works... Can someone point me some info? Also, Is there a software that checks the fontdir and generate an XftConfig? Thanks to anyone!

Maybe kde's font installer ? in kde's control center select System | Font Installer.

Switch to administrator mode to set /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XftConfig (which is a symlink to /etc/X11/XftConfig).

If run as a regular user this will affect only your settings and be stored in ~/.xftconfig (which is included by /etc/X11/XftConfig).
