I have read the basic FAQ in this forums but now I have come across a combination of letters I don't understand:
[ebuild UD] sys-apps/baselayout-1.8.5.8 [1.8.6.2]
U should be upgrade, D downgrade - how should I interpret it? |

It updates your package with an older one...
I think that's because a lot of people had problems with the new baselayout, so it has been masked again. _________________ I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it. |

It seems when emerging an older SLOTed ebuild (e.g. python-2.1.3-r1), you will see the UD also. _________________ --Kutsuya |
