RealTek 8139C OnBoard Ethernet under 2.4.20-gentoo

I have my system wotking on 2.4.19 but without DMA and AGP
now i tryed 2.4.20 and it looks like i would get DMA at least
but my Ethernet card is not working then it times out for some reason
(im trying to use it for ADSP (PPPOE)), kernel configuration is the same as for 2.4.19 ( I jsut copied .config) module gets loaded and everything only it looks like something is wrong, could it be that ACPI has influence on it ?
(under 2.4.19 ACPI wasnt working adn under 2.4.20 it is)

Yes, ACPI seems to be the issue. If you'll see my thread here, it explains some of what's going on. I had this exact same problem, so... a search may have turned that up. Good luck getting it running again!
