Hi there;

I'm trying to run gnomemeeting 0.85.1 but when I try to run it it fails and gives me the following error message:

"Please check your gconf settings and permissions, it seems that gconf is not properly set up on your system."

Well I have gconf 1.0.8-r3 and all the other apps that depend on it run fine, never had a problem. This problem seems specific to gnomemeeting. There's a new version of gnomemeeting out which is supposed to solve any gconf probs but it depends on gnome 2.0, I'm currently still using 1.4 and I would like to resolve the issue without having to emerge gnome 2.0 since that would probably open a whole new can of worms :roll:

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks.

Ahh go ahead and give gnome 2.0 a shot, if your a gnome user you should be extremely satisfied with it.

It has to be a bug, I would submit a bug report with all the pertinant information.

Yep, according to the gnomemeeting site it is a bug indeed. The easy fix is too wait for an ebuild for the new version of gnomemeeting. I'm sure that will happen soon, until then I can live without a webcam :wink:
