hi!
maybe this is a duplicate, but: when my / is checked, it throws out that there are 12.7% non-contiguous. it is ext3. i found several threads on this and they pointed out that it does not have a great impact on performance, but as i use linux for 3 years now, it never happened to me that i had such a huge fragmentation rate. besides, i often get a message that my fs has been repaired during boot, even after a clean shutdown.
this happens with every kernel i used on gentoo so far. at the moment i'm running wolk-4.0s-pre9
if it was only the fragmentation rate, i wouldn't post, but the fact that the filesystem has to be repaired even after a clean shutdown ("three orphaned inodes were deleted") leads me to the point that i think something might be uncorrect with my system.
