Would anyone happen to know why xfree (using XFree86 -configure) would pick up 2 voodoo 5500 cards when there is only one on my system? _________________ Talk is cheap because supply always exceeds demand. |

Because it has two 3dfx VSA100 chips, which operate using SLI (Scan Line Interleave Mode). It's nothing to be concerned about and I don't think you are supposed to configure XFree86 as if there are two cards present.
Don't forget to compile XFree without the 3dfx USE flag, then again with the flag if you want DRI and 3D acceleration to work properly. |

That's what I thought. Since I couldnt seem to find anything about it after Googling I thought I'd throw some bait into here to see who'd bite.
I normally remove the second card/monitor from the config and run it that way. No problems.
Thanks for the response. _________________ Talk is cheap because supply always exceeds demand. |
