Gentoo 1.4rc_2 doesn't find Adaptec Raid 2400A

I tried to install gentoo on a server with Adaptec 2400A Hardware-Raid controller (works fine under suse 7.3) but gentoo didn't find the controller.

when i tried to load the module dpt_i2o he didn't find anything (tried it endless and when i press ctrl + c there is an error and the system freeze).

Did i have to load another module for this controller before i can load the dpt_i2o or maybe it's a bug from gentoo 1.4rc_2???

Please help - it's urgent!

With the help from a college i could solve the problem:

The only problem is 1.4_rc2 liveCD.

I tried it now with the 1.4_rc1 liveCD and the controller has been identified automatically (the Intel-Networkcard also).
