Gentoo is very very nice, I am thoroughly impressed with it. After many, many hours behind my slackware box, I have found Gentoo very refreshing. |

Another one !
But I have to say for myself that I am really impressed by Gentoo and what the developers built up although Gentoo is such a young distribution... |

Same here; I'm also a slacker (and still have it on my older hard disk). My new 40GB hardisk has Gentoo and nothing but.
Other dists need to take a look at how well Gentoo handles dependencies! |

Definately. Mandrake and Red Hat were both crappy with dependancies. They tell you something is missing but not what exactly. Gentoo (portage) knows what dependancies to get and installs them all with a minimal amount of fuss. Well done to the developers of Gentoo. _________________ Postcount ++ |
