so for i've used emerge alot. ive emerged gkrellm, xmms, kde, opengl, gnome, enlightenment, etc. but when if ever do i use ebuild? how do i uninstall packages? are there plans for a graphical interface for emerge?

also, i use kde 3.0.1 and it's great but a little crashy, and every now and then gets unresponsive? i get the feeling something is wrong with my shared memory or something, cuz when a lot of stuff is going on everything gets unstable. also the gkrellm and kde system monitors constantly have my cpu usage at 90% plus. what should i be checking? if i install the runaway process widget/app the smiley face is always frowning.

These are very good questions. They're also all answered either in the documentation or in the archives. The Portage User Guide and Portage Manual will answer your questions about uninstalling and ebuilds.

Please RTFM and search the archives before posting here.
