Okay. I was just thinking that it's damn near impossible trying to keep track of all the crap that goes on in OTW. The support forums are what should be focused on, not this junk. That fact that we've got you, pjp and ian! all working on this forum, is a sign it's distracting from the real purpose of the forums. I can see Gentoo chat, at least it talks about Gentoo, but OTW is just random nonsense. And I know I'm guilty, once that script hits me, my posts will be down to about 3 or 4 Plus is makes searching for relevant information harder, since there are over 277,000 posts in just OTW!
Just my opinion, but is keeping OTW here worth it?
Put a link to the o-t-w.org where they can link to "the real OTW" forums, plus all the other cool OTW stuff like the photo gallery, #otw channel, etc.

There is only one thing that you need to know about religion: "Every single religion wrong, yet every religion is in the right, which is the important part." That is a highly compacted statement that you need to uncompress like a .tar.bz2 file to get all the nice hidden meanings out of it, but once you do, it closes all discussion on religion. Whenever someone starts talking about religion, you can use that line, because it is the end all. Well, I didn't think the drink you drink I did. I put cherries in my soda.

I'm not too proud to admit that my postcount mattered to me a lot. I put my time in to get to around 500 posts, which may not sound like a lot to some of you, but it sure meant a lot to me.
When I had a bad day, when my sexual advances towards classmates were denied, when people laughed at me because I had toilet paper stuck to my shoe, at least at the end of the day I could look myself in the mirror and laugh - "Ha! Well I bet THEY don't have 500 posts on OTW - er gentoo forums! Bitches." Now that is gone, all gone. I can only console myself with the razor blade I guide across my forearms nightly.
In all seriousness, I'm pissed that I'm a n00b again, and I will probably venture over to the support forums, against my will mind you, and be helpful (uggh) so I don't have to be a n00b anymore. So your little plan is working in this case, moderators. |

Nothing wrong with being helpful. I definitely felt the need to browse the other threads and learn some things..... who knew kernel 2.6.9 was out (just kidding ) _________________ you mean you are going to remember me by what I type....here? |

Hey, it is working already. When I click "view unanswered posts" I no longer see a clutter of OTW posts in the way of truly useful threads... _________________ Hello. |

EDIT: I just searched through all my posts, and I think this is the only OTW I ever posted in. :S I know I voted in a few polls with the intent on replying, but never got around doing so. _________________ Qt Copy ebuilds for Qt 3 and 4: Clicky <-- Updated 20080118!

I think it should be deleted for possibly only a few months. With the OTW forum gone, all of the losers will post elsewhere (Slyde's site?), become used to it, and hopefully not come back once the OTW is reinstated. Then we can start with a new set of OTW users, and hopefully have less dirt.
Kinda like making it rain for forty days and forty nights.

What if all non-Gentoo-supported kernel stuff was moved to OTW?
