We have enough forums as it is.

This is the "leftovers" forum, no topic is banned here, just accept it or go to the forum where they talk about your specific interest.

yeah, that pretty much sums up the US attitude in the world currently.

Not with us? Terrorist!

Nice, real nice... maybe you need to take a look at your own constitution?

If that's the only thing you are able to answer to those biased idiots, maybe actualy they have a good reason to claim what they claim...

Isn't the position you take here the position of a biased defender of the USA ?

Leave 'em as they are. If you don't like religious flamewars, read thread topics before you click. If that doesn't work, there's always the "back" button for when you find yourself reading one.

Banning religion threads is just going to create a new class of trolls that try to goad people into saying "God" in hopes of getting all the political or philosophical threads locked.

Actually, I'm sick and tired of all the tons and tons of threads on Gentoo. It's been beaten up and kicked around and punched at too long. I think we've had enough debates.

Either that or we can make a "debate/religion/bashing" section of the forums.

Yep, but I think it should be split.

I like to talk about things other than debates when I am in a mood to check OTW. If I am in a debate mood, I will go to the debate forum (preferably).

So .... you basically want other forums for all the threads that you are not interested in? Isn't that a bit egoistic?

OTW is a forum for all non-gentoo related topics and as such should also be the home for politics/religions/etc... No need for a separate forum..

To play devils advocate Erik, isn't it a bit egotistical for you to impose your one OTW forum on everyone? Not that I agree with splitting OTW but the kettle calling the pot black is amusing to say the least.

Swoooshhhh...

Did you hear that, ba747heavy?
That was the sound of a missed point flying over your head...

OTW is for all issues not gentoo-related. Is that really difficult to understand. If you don't like a thread, don't read it. Is that really too difficult for you?

I think we should just ban all religious members.
If they were so smart to figure out how they had to install gentoo in the past, it's very odd that with their intelligence they're still religious.

Whoa, calm down there Erik. I agree with you - splitting OTW is stupid, but you accusing someone of being egotistical because they want to make (or keep) something a certain way is amusing.

Again, you missed the point...

I never said I think it should remain a single forum for all the useless crap me and others post.
I merly stated that OTW is for all non-gentoo related threads.

Personally, I have no problems with a single OTW containing all kinds of threads, I can read the titles of a thread and avoid the more obvious ones. I can also read the contents of a post and if that is not something that interests me, I skip the thread. I was just wondering why it is problematic to others to do the same?

And if there is a great sentiment towards splitting OTW, I would have no problems with that either, so I really don't understand your point...

Then why do you keep posting in it? A search of your nick shows 290 posts in otw out of 861 total. That's roughly 33% of your posts in otw.

Well, I've pretty much given up on the rest of the forums since the ricers and newbies showed up... If OTW wasn't tempting me with all those easily trollable targets I'd probably be doing something constructive like fixing the kvim7 ebuilds or working on eselect instead.

Isn't gentoo all about having everything the way I want it? Why should the forums be any different? lol

splitting OTW is unrealistic. you have so many casual threads turning into debates that its just not gonna happen.

I think they are the same person. Neither will say their religion, both say that they and only they are right

Correct, also the most outspoken detractors of religions and OS's as well are usually dumbfucks

Unfortunately most of the time they deserve it. Ever hear anything bad about Sweden, Norway or Germany? Or even the UK?
