I got MPD working and now I want to put my server in the closet use it remotely. The idea is to put a pair of speakers in each room and connect them to the machine in the closet. Anyone know of a good audio forum where I can ask a bunch of questions? Otherwise, here's what I need info on:
1. can I regulate the volume of the stereo via a wall switch (kind of like a dimmer switch)
2. what a cheap amp I can get that supports 6 speakers?
3. is there any way to combine the volume knob (1 above) with a mic so I can send voice commands to the computer?
4. are there decent speakers that I can embed in the ceiling that won't break the bank?
If anyone is a gentooer and an audiofile with some answers that'd be really cool. |

| I have some IR receivers that fit into a standard wall-switch enclosure. Russound/FMP, Inc. (Newmarket, NH, US) Model 848's. |
