| how can i get my cdrw to work i am confused do i need scsci emulation. if i do that may be a problem because i have 2 real serial harddrives? |

Depends on what kernel you're running. If it's a 2.4 kernel, you'll need SCSI emulation - if it's a 2.6 you won't need - and probably shouldn't use - SCSI emulation.
If you're using a 2.6 kernel and cdrecord, try running:
| Code: | | # cdrecord -scanbus ATAPI |
Be sure to run it as root.
If everything goes well that should list your CD drive and show its id. If you only have one CD/DVD drive, it will most likely be 0,0,0. The device would then be specified to 'cdrecord' as ATAPI:0,0,0.  |
