Hi,
I recently made an emerge update of Gnome and now every user profile opens Nautilus with home dir and showed me the error message that '/home/user/0' cannot be found ... after logon with GDM. It does not matter if the profile was created with the previous or actual version of Gnome.

Can anybody else confirm this or does know how to solve this?

Sorry, it didn't work. I also tried to unmerge and merge gnome-vfs with your MAKEOPTS="-j1" option again.

Is this a configuration problem or is the cause an obsolete script, binary or anything else which can be repaired manually?

Are you positive MAKEOPTS got trough ? If so, the quick'ndiryt solution is to use gnome-vfs-2.0.4 instead of 2.0.4.1

I typed exactly MAKEOPTS="-j1" emerge gnome-vfs. Fyi, my vesion of gnome-vfs is 2.0.4.1-r1.

I'll try an update and then I see if I need to downgrade this package.
