Just looks like the wrong driver for the card.
Or maybe no agpart module built / misconfigured kernel. Do you have devfs built in to the kernel?

You are setup to use the VGA driver. BLAH!

You need to rerun xf86config and pick a video card, or emerge your video drivers (for NVIDIA, maybe others) and modify the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 as required.

i think the line

Code:
Device   "dellm782"

in the screen section is not correct - device should be pointing to your card and monitor to your monitor... besides - as int1 mentioned u r using vga only - usually you dont want to do this... are u sure about 'dellm782' as a video card? i cant find this nowhere...

Have you tried running:
Code:

XFree86 -configure

And examining/trying the XF86config.new file that it makes?

TIP: It will want to use /dev/mouse for the mouse device, I have found this to not work on many systems. It actually hard-locked one. Edit the config to use (if this -is- your mouse device) /dev/input/mice.

Then run
Code:

XFree86 -xf86config /root/XF86Config.new

And see what happens.
