So have I, and on a couple of other phpBB forums, must be something to do with the template they're all based on.

Same here, looks annoying and I heard there's another button more to the right. An edit or delete button or something...

mij experience with the same phpBB (and another skin) is that there is no need to worry about those buttons.
Those who need them will find them 
and standard the most right icon is an icon to view the IP. |

but the problem is in mozilla, mozilla 1.1 does it fine 1.2 messes it up. so there must be a issue to address. |

Just one thing: how did you get that nifty bar in Mozilla (the one with Font/Colors/Images/JavaScript/Clear Cache/Real UA/etc.)??
