hi all
have downloaded gentoo 2.4 (live-cd) and tried to install. takes the cdrom and loads the silo but gets a kernel panic as it tries to load the os into ram (think that's what it's doing - new  ). the error is
'Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 01:00'
can anyone help? this is a 'new to me' computer so i'm checking stuff out as i go.

| Are you using the 2004.2 Live CD ? Since the 2004.1 has a bug that causes a kernel panic. |
