|
|
Hi,
I found 2 sun fire v120 without cdrom, keyboard and mouse jack, and without monitor output.
I think this are good machine to put as some kind of server application, I'don't know what, but is not realy important because first of all I need to install an OS (Gentoo).
I follow a gentoo manual to create an tftp server and all I need to start a network installation, so:
- I use a win2k3 server with null modem cable and hyperterminal to control the sun server
- I found the key sequence #. to active the LOM prompt
- I follow the link below to active a tftp server and all I need to make the net boot. "http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-sparc-netboot-howto.xml" - Now I must to give the command "boot net" from the sun console, but the command seems don't be understand. (maybe my english is no so good)
Code: |
lom>boot net
Usage: bootmode [[-u] forth|reset_nvram|diag|skipdiag|normal]
lom>
|
- In all documentation I read about a OK prompt and not a LOM one,
- actualy all my google search doesn't give me any hint.
Have anyone an idea for help me?
caio a tutti DArio
