Aaargh,
I have (small mistake, big effect ) deleted my /var/db/pkg directory (was thinking of actually delete /var/tmp/portage).
Is there a way of rebuilding this directory or I am obliged to reinstall my system after having to go on my knees to Gentoo's HQ all while whipping myself?
Such a shame
Thanks a lot _________________ Tell a man there are 300 billion stars in the universe and he'll believe you.

Damn, emm dunno but you can inject every single package version you had installed, then at least you don't have to recompile them, but this only creates empty directories in /var/db/pkg and not the DEPENDS etc files. Never realised the importance of this directory damn, I personaly would start over (and never every make the mistake again, maybe make a daily tar) and let my computer crunch on gentoo for a day,

Gosh, I knew it
Well, I'm gonna re-install from scratch when gnome 2 will be unmasked,
'til then, no updates for me
Thanks for the answer (even if I would prefer another one ) _________________ Tell a man there are 300 billion stars in the universe and he'll believe you.
