I upgraded from KDE-3.0 to 3.0.1
Now whenever I start KDE as a normal user I get a popup box that says
Could not start process Unable to creat io-slave:
klauncher said: unknown protocol 'file'.
In addition, the main menu only has a few things on it...just lock screen, logout, home directory. It's missing all applications and such. Also, none of my links on the panel work. Everything works the same as it always has when I log in as root. One other thing: I have all the KDE config files for root linked to the config files in my normal user directory so that my normal user login and the root login use the same files. This is just so that everything stays the same no matter what I log in as. I don't see how this would be the problem because it worked fine before yesterday (before upgrading). |

| Did you unmerge KDE 3.0.0 completely? Also when you did an emerge -p kde what was listed? |

hmm ... I thought that normal users can't see the /root directory. Maybe you link is unable to find the files because you have linked it to the /root directory. _________________ Postcount ++ |
