I've been rebuilding several packages lately to fix a problem, but now whenever I run something that needs the older gtk, it cannot find libgtk-1.2.so.0. I try to remerge those packages, but they either try do downgrade gtk+ or the build fails.

my gtk+ is 2.0.9. How can I get that library?

Shouldn't:
Code:
cd /usr/portage/x11-libs/gtk+
emerge gtk+-1.2.10-r9

do the trick? It shouldn't get "downgraded" because gtk+1 and gtk+2 use different SLOTS and can co-exist.

I tried doing what you said, but it wanted to downgrade gtk.

I'm working on an emerge -e world, and it did something that made things work properly

Thanks!

But even if says "D" is should still protect gtk2 from cleansing after the merge. Anyway, moot point as you seem to have things sorted!
