Gentoo 1.4.x & 3ware 7500-4 Raid?

Hello everyone,

I am new to Gentoo, but yesterday I tried to install it on my new machine which has a 3ware 7500-4 Raid Card and 4 hdds attached to it. This means no harddrives are attached to the mainboard's ide ports (only cd-r's etc).

However, Gentoo did not detect the 3ware card, nor did a modprobe 3w-xxxx help.


Does anyone have some suggestions or maybe already installed the latest (rc 1) on a pure 3ware raid driven system?
