Hey!
I have a Kodak DX-3215 digital camera that I'm trying to get working. The camera is correctly detected unsing gtkam or gphoto2 --auto-detect
Model Port
----------------------------------------------------------
Kodak DX-3215 usb:
but whenever I'm trying to get files from it I get this :
root@rocketeater linux # gphoto2 --get-all-files
*** Error ***
request code 0x1007 getting data error 0x02ff
*** Error ***
PTP I/O error
*** Error ***
request code 0x1003 sending req error
I've checked if I had usbcore as a module... OK!
configured hotplugging so a device in /proc/bus/usb is created with the right permissions... OK!
Even tried my camera under Windows, works great!...
I'm out of ideas now ! ;P
What could possibly be the problem ?
Thx! |

do you have usb-storage compiled in your kernel or as module? I am not sure your camera needs it, but it may be the case. |

It's compiled as a module...
I've tried to modprobe usb-storage and then use the camera but same problem ... I really don't know what's causing this bug ... |

You could go to the gphoto Mailing List and search if somebody had a similar problem. (www.gphoto.org)
Off hand maybe a bad cable or you can go to bugs.gentoo.org and bug #12044 has a newer version of gphoto, maybe there was a fix. Just untar in /usr/portage. If you want exif support just add USE="exif" to your make.conf. |

I have a HP318 which can connect to the PC in two different modes, either as a camera or as a USB-HD, configured from the camera itself. In USB-HD mode I can mount the camera as a HD, and in camera mode I can access it from gphoto2. One oddity is that the camera has built-in memory, and if I add a memory card then gphoto2 gives me errors, even in camera mode. Either way, gphoto2 finds the camera, but gphoto2 ONLY works if the camera is in camera mode AND I do NOT have a memory card in it.
I realize you don't even have the same brand of camera, but maybe this info will help. _________________ AMD Athlon 2000+ VIA KT333
