Could you please share your experiences with me.
Config
3x120GB HDs ATA133
Kernel 2.4.18
Issue 1;
Sometimes for no apparent reason, my machine starts resyncing the RAID set. No obvious errors reported.
Issue 2;
It takes approx 27hrs and chews up 100% of the CPU to rebuild the RAID5 set (3x120GB)
Is this normal ??
Thanks for any info.

what do you mean by resync?
to build an array takes a loooong time. its ok for such big arrays to build in about 10 to 30 hours, depending on if you have hardware or software raid.
as you are using software raid the process takes some cpu cycles, thats ok because you dont have an extra processor for handling your raid array. |

m0pr0be,
Thanks for the feedback. Sorry I'm just getting used to the new terminoligy. When I say resync, I guess I mean resyncing the parity with data.
The process takes approx 27 hrs. It sounds like this is normal, so I'll just have to live with it.
Thanks for the info.
