ok, i finally got gentoo installed on the sony viao, took me a whole day. And now i have a serious module problem. I looked all over the forums, but couldn't really find help. My problem is that
NO MODULES LOAD AT ALL
I have everything i need, but everytime i try and modprobe a module, albiet at boot time or a modprobe time, i get
unresolved symbol errors. I do have modules enabled in the kernel too.
Its the 2.4.20 vanilla kernel if that helps. But no modules will load, from pcmcia to my sb sound module to the paraport or usb, and all the others i use. If there is a fix for this, or someone else has expeirienced this, please post. |

Are you sure you did a make modules and make modules_install?

| yes, i've checked and double checked that. but i've chosen to use mandrake on this laptop now. Its a pentium-mmx with 32 mb of ram, so setting it up with gentoo would take days, and i need it done by friday. Thanks for your help though. |
