| I just compiled an openmosix kernel (2.4.19-openmosix-r7), but it won't boot. It freezes just before mounting devfs. I compiled a new kernel without devfs and it boots fine. Any suggestions? |

I'm having the same problem with openmosix-sources-2.4.19-r7... openmosix-sources-2.4.19-r6 works fine.
There's a bugzilla post regarding this at http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10140 |

The problem is with your GCC flags... they are too agressive...
Just try something like this :
CFLAGS="-march=your_proc -02 -pipe"... the same with CXXFlAGS...
and it will work nice
bye,
