| OK, I'm curious if the Duplicate Threads Forum is or is NOT searchable? I posted a topic that was moved into the duplicate threads forum along with a bunch of other similar articles. They are all clearly duplicate threads, that I'm not debating. But now when I search the forums, none of these articles turn up within the search results. That's a bad thing. You can have a million threads about the same thing but if none of them can be found by searching, your going to end up with a lot more duplicate threads. I can't even search for my own post with keywords I know are in there and it's only a day old. It should be at the top of my search results. |

It is searchable. In fact, you can search that forum only, if you want. Anyway, searching for 'tune2fs', or 'disk space' finds your thread. Please note that search terms must be at least three characters, and that wildcards are as far as I know still disabled. Please see this FAQ as well: FO3: Why doesn't forum search return useful results? _________________ Please read our FAQ Forum, it answers many of your questions.

| Thanks for confirming that it is searchable. However, when I asked my question about df, I had no idea it was related to tune2fs. Is there a reason the search terms HAVE to be at least 3 characters? There are a lot of unix commands that are only 2 characters and it would be great if you could search for them in the forums. Additionally, the FAQ item you linked to says, "Remember that only words of four characters and longer are indexed . . .". Do you happen to know if it's 3 or 4? Thanks |

Please see the thread linked in the FAQ I mentioned. Feel free to bump it. Oh, and 'disk space' is in your post. _________________ Please read our FAQ Forum, it answers many of your questions.
