Hi, Ive been having a slight problem with cron (more specifically, dcron). Im able to add jobs using crontab e just fine. But thats it. The log (/var/log/cron.log) says that it was executed but yet nothing happened. I guess what Ive been trying to do is this:
0 7 * * * /usr/bin/xmms
But nothing shows up. Nada. The user is part of the cron group also. Crond is running too. So Ive been stumped. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Luke |

hi,
i dont know much about dcron, but unless you specify a mail account in your crontab then mail with error messages and/or output from cronjobs is sent to the root account.
as with your example crontab, the output should be some error message from xmms comlpaining about not being able to connect to X display |
