At what point during the boot sequence does your screen not load properly? Have you checked your logs to see what the exact error is? _________________ if i never try anything, i never learn anything..

i mean the screen is not loading whatso ever , i didnt check any logs, i am positive is from the video card , i have a hint i am not using the right card from the list while chosing it , cause once i install , the other os works fine
so if u have this video card , please tell me what card u using from the list while xf86config (i did compiled the ati radeon in the kernel)

Hmm..
I guess I'm confused as to how you don't have some error logged in some fashion when starting up X. When you turn on the computer can you see grub load? When you select your kernel can you see the kernel load? When you finish loading the kernel does it dump you to a command prompt? If you are booting straight to a login manager (kdm|gdm|xdm) then you should probably try deleting them from your rc scripts and booting to a prompt. Then you could try startx from the commandline and see what error it gives when it fails.
I do not have that graphics card, but I'm sure someone has it on these forums. The information you are looking for with respect to the XF86Config would be availible online if you do a google search. _________________ if i never try anything, i never learn anything..

i am login in gdm , and no i get nothin i start the box and the screen stays blank , i dont know what actually brings the screen back , after several ctrl+alt+backspace or several tries to start it the box would boot normal and works okay during that session but if i shut off the box and restart it the circus starts all over
during xf86config i tried not to chose a card from library since i've loaded ati radeon in the kernel but is not working the screen remains blank
oh i remeber the error i get is that the video card module conflicts
i guess the one i compiled with the one i chose from xf86config
hope this makes a little sense
p.s. maybe u could help me by running urself a xf86config and see what number would u chose from the list
thanx a lot |

I'm really not sure what the issue is. I don't have that card or I would tell you what module I'm using that works. The only ATI card I have is one that's on my laptop. This is it's XF86Config or at least a few relevant sections. Hopefully someone else with that card will be kind enough to share their config. _________________ if i never try anything, i never learn anything..
