I have a laptop with a Linksys NP100 (Network Everywhere) PCMCIA NIC. I searched and found that this is supported by the pcnet_cs driver. So I compiled that driver into my kernel. PCMCIA starts fine but when I try to start eth0 it gives me the "eth0: no such device" error. I searched around and most answers to that problem were about not having the driver installed. But that doesn't seem to be my problem because I compiled in the driver. This is quite frustrating. Any thoughts? |

Have you checked your IRQs to make sure the device is physically showing up to the system?
I also am having a vague memory that some of the "Network Everywhere" devices actually use axnet_cs. Maybe try using that one instead and see if that's the problem...? _________________ Linux user off and on since circa 1995 |
