What e-mail application you use to read e-mail in Gentoo?
Please specify if it's for Pop3 or Imap...and why you think is good.

(my posting above, as some might already have guessed)
... and some day I'm gonna find out why I sometime get logged out after a few minutes, and then not after half an hour of idletime ...

Evolution is nice, but it's slower than a dead slug stuck in frozen molasses. I like Mozilla Mail--It's reasonably fast and works perfectly. I've has weird problems pop up in Evolution. _________________ The greatest deeds are still undone, the greatest songs are still unsung... |

| Mutt - it's fast and easy and does everything I need it to do. And I don't have to go into X to use it. |

Bravo! I use Mutt directly on the server, so there is no insecure POP3 passwords flying over the wire. It also has great support for PGP, is amazingly fast, and very easy to configure.
It also has built in message threading, which is great for use when reading mailing lists... |

Both of these are worth a look (the -claws is the bleeding edge version). Good functionality, stable, IMAP or POP3 (I use IMAP), threading, spell checking (in claws), multi-account, blah blah blah.

Emacs.
Just kidding. I like emacs, but i'm not religious about it.
I generally use a combination of fetchmail, qmail, procmail, and evolution.
Since I begin the chain with fetchmail and qmail, I can use any MUA (for example, mutt) without a problem. However, I typically use evolution and fetch the mail directly from my mail spool/directory with it. _________________ Hey um, this is my signature. |

Gatta have my Evolution. I use it with an IMAP server. Yeah, it takes about 10 seconds to start up, but once it's up it is quick. vfolders are great, and the searching is fast. PGP support is excellent.
On the command line, I like mutt. Mutt, with nano, that is... |

Actually, i've been thinking about it for some time now, and I think that from now on, my de-facto standard answer to "What is your favorite application for..." questions will from this day forward be:

Better than vim? Isn't that like saying "more expensive than bubblegum (i.e., "isn't everything?") _________________ Hey um, this is my signature. |

| I am looking for a better email program/client. What is the general concensus on the best mail client. Right now I am merging evolution, looks pretty sweet. |
