Hi I was wondering if my system uses 333Mhz or not, well I know my hardware supports it but if I do some math I get 166Mhz x 4 Bytes (32bit data) = 664 Mb/s, I just wonder if the test of memtest shows the absolute bandwidth or average or something. Changing the bios from turbo -> performance I get 609Mb/s or other setting 594Mb/s. But if I read some pages I read peak is 2700MB/s, so I just wonderd if people have similar results using memtest86 (memory speed and memtest speed). Or that something is wrong with my system c.q. asus a7v333 not recognising kingston pc333 memory or something.....

well just want to know if speed should be 1332Mb/s or that 665Mb/s is correct for pc2700.

As far as I know ddr memory communicates on a 64bit bus, ( 166 * 8 ) * 2 = 2656.

Well that's probably the theoretical maximum, so I start looking and found the following page http://www.ntsi.com/DDRRam_Explained_p2.htm which states the average it much lower, depending on the (programmable) burst length settings hower it could be almost doubled........wonder if linux sets this burst length....
