audio stream player plugin - help configuring

I want to install something that will play audio streams and I want it to work when I click on a link from mozilla, so that I can listen the the games of my favorite football team.

Can somebody recommend the best apps for this that portage has, and is there anything special that needs to be done in order for it to work as a mozilla plug-in?

What type of stream? RealAudio? Windows Media?
I use several different apps depending on what kind of stream. Perhaps you could even post a link to the stream you would like to play.
