hello
is there any emulator around to emulate solaris on a x86 or sparc linux?
ive got some proprietary solaris binaries which id like to run on linux.

The sparc linux kernel can run solaris binaries directly if you compile in "Solaris binary emulation". I've never done it, but AFAIK it works pretty well and doesn't have too much of a performance hit. You'll most likely need a Solaris install on another partition to grab all the right libraries. |

Not that I know of short of emulating the whole sparc CPU, as in QEMU. A U10 with Solaris binary emulation would probably be way faster than a fast X86 box emulating a sparc, since all that's translated are the syscalls. |
