well i have a 3com card connected to alcatel modem.my device is eth0.i try to connect always with dhcpcd .sometimes it times out without being connected.i try with winblows and when i type ipconfig/renew i get a network failure/insufficient access.now i got connected but the most times i cant get it to work. _________________ Hey.I am new to Linux and i will ask some stupid questions sometimes so please don't get angry with me and help |

Alcatel modem has a static ip.
You can't connect your modem with dhcp. |

hey i always connected this way.
dhcpcd eth0

i feel very embarassed for such a problem.i forget to add eth0 to load on boot:) now the problem is fixed
