Hi
When doing an emerge opera I get:
Quote: | >>> emerge net-www/opera-6.1 to /
!!! The digest /usr/portage/net-www/opera/files/digest-opera-6.1 appears to be corrupt. Aborting.
!!! emerge aborting on /usr/portage/net-www/opera/opera-6.1.ebuild .

I deleted it, did a rsync.Same error.
Also doing an emerge --update --pretend system acts strange.

These are the packages that I would merge, in order.

Well ,there was an update to be found. Why didn't it?
Something is wrong ,or is it I who does not understand?
Yes , I have done a search in the forums.I even read the man pages.
b.t.w emerge -u world does not find any updates either. Not even opera.

the digest file from the portage tree seems to be broken.
just regenerate it with the ebuild command:
Code: |
ebuild /usr/portage/net-www/opera/opera-6.1.ebuild digest
|
after that do the emerge again and everything should be fine.

That does not solve the problem. It gives me the same output.
Code: | bash-2.05a# ebuild /usr/portage/net-www/opera/opera-6.1.ebuild digest
!!! The digest /usr/portage/net-www/opera/files/digest-opera-6.1 appears to be corrupt. Aborting.

I think there is a more major problem according to the other errors I mentioned.
This is a Gentoo 1.2 installation that I had no problems with before.
I emerged xmms, xine and others without problem.
More hints?
UPDATE!!
Opera ebuild ok now after I removed the old digest before making a new one.
The emerge with env OPERA_VARIANT=shared-3.2 fails
Code: | >>> emerge net-www/opera-6.1 to /
>>> md5 ;-) opera-6.10-20021029.1-static-qt.i386.tar.bz2
|
It fetches the static one.Same with shared-2.5.
Emerging the static works ok.
Think I saw something about this in another forum.
I will check after starting my uppdated Opera. |
