Hi to ya all ...
Just emerged XEmacs and loaded up a perl script Ive been working on. XEmacs tells me that perl-mode not is available. What am I missing. Checked under app-emacs but cant see any addons for perl?
Please ... help me out here. _________________ ~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~

Try emerging xemacs-packages-sumo to get a whole bunch of useful packages. I think that's how I got perl mode. |

Personally, I think the xemacs-packages-sumo collection is not very much in the Gentoo spirit. There are instructions about how to use pui to install only what you want in /usr/portage/app-editors/xemacs/files/README.Gentoo. Installing "prog-modes" will give you cperl-mode, which is what I use.
EDIT: It appears that cperl-mode has migrated from prog-modes to perl-modes. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

Thanx for the help ... desided to learn this (X)Emacs thing ... I like (G)Vim as a quick hack editor, but think it could be a good investment to lear Emacs to _________________ ~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~
