support. That last 3 kernels I compiled didn't work with my PS/2 keyboard and I think I turned off an option somewhere. Any ideas? |

you must have turned off something very basic, since keyboard support does not depend of ps/2. just to be sure I would suggest to move away (but backup ) your /usr/src/linux/.config and reconfigure your kernel by not turning off options you are absolutely sure you don't need.
normally it does not brake anything leaving all default options turned on and just add what you need

If you're using menuconfig, I assume that means you have at least one working kernel...? I haven't come across a kernel that requires any sort of extra options turned on for keyboard support and yours clearly works with linux... Do you have gpm installed? If so, does your mouse work with your newly compiled kernel? You might be able to add a script of some sort to your start up that logs the output of the /dev/whatever_the_keyboard_is (can't remember right now) directory and then start your new kernel and see if something is being processed when you hammer on the keyboard. Or plug your mouse into it and see if it chokes. Just a thought.
As to the netmask, what do you have it set at now (network IP/netmask/broadcast) ? |
