I cannot find an answer.

I have a CDRW 8-4-32.
I followed all the steps for setting the CDRW (hdd=ide-scsi in Grub, setting the right parameters in the kernel,...) and the CDRW works as reader and is recognised by cdrecord scanbus and the k3b settings goes fine.

But when I try to burn a cd (creating iso files works). It always stops at around 5-7% (with k3b, but I tried xcdrecord with no better results):

This is the message I receive:
Code:

rack 01:    5 of  219 MB written (fifo 100%) [buf  97%]   4.2x.
/usr/bin/cdrecord: Input/output error. write_g1: scsi sendcmd: no error

Writing  time:   13.611s

Fixating...

/usr/bin/cdrecord: fifo had 154 puts and 91 gets.
/usr/bin/cdrecord: fifo was 0 times empty and 50 times full, min fill was 81%.

Any idea?
I am really lost, my cdrw worked under mdk 8.2, so should not be broken, and I need to burn some backup cds!

Thank you for the help
Adalberto

try driveropts=burnproof if your drive supports it... in case it's somehow buffer underrun'ing... other than that I don't know. I doubt a 8x4 would support burnproof though, so I don't think this will help much.
