|

I emerged development-sources in a advanturous whim, and now,.. I want it off my system.
So, I emerge -C development sources. Wait five seconds and... there it goes... Bye bye, I'll see you when your name is 2.5 or 3.0.
I rm -rf /usr/src/linux-[beta|2.5.45] and do an
emerge rsync && emerge -pu --deep world..
To my surprise it want's to download development-sources 2.5.47.
This beeing not what I want, I come running to the gentoo forums whining about how to stop gentoo from doing this.
And here I am.
What is causing development sources to still be listed as a dependancy?
Thanks
[edit] Has it possibly something to do that (possibly) Gentoo keeps track of what sources you use, and now has it on record that I am using development sources, and thus notifies me of updates of that?
Hmm, an emerge gentoo-sources will answer that question
[edit2] Nope, that doesn't do it |

That points to (as it should) linux-2.4.19-gentoo-r9.
As said.. I emerge -C-ed development, but that let's the sources stay in /usr/src (including the symlink from linux-beta to the 2.5.xx tree) I deleted these manually. But still, gentoo has it on record somewhere that I want 2.5.xx and with the speed that Linus is pumping out new kernels, that is quite a lot of traffic that I can do without |

Your world file maybe? I would think though when you emerge -C'd it though it would have taken it out of the world file...hmm.... |

I bet it's the virtual/linux-sources entry in /var/cache/edb/virtuals. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
