Hello,
I'm requesting some help on the best way to connect my Gentoo box to a print server on my network. I haven't experimented much yet because after finally getting nearly everything working correctly, I don't want to piss in the soup. I'm sure it will require just some minor mods to the Gentoo printer How-to. I also understand that there is an HP jetadmin software program that I can emerge that may be of help. At any rate, any help would be appreciated. I've got a Netgear PS110 and an HP OfficeJet G55 on my network. Thanks in advance. |

according to netgear's website, your print server should work fine. i use a broadband router as a print server and have had no problem using cups. when i set my printer up using cups web interface, i just selected lpr and entered the ip address and queue name of the server. worked perfectly. |

I must be slow but I still cant seem to get it configured after multiple attempts. What specifically did you put in each of the Cups fields for your particular config? |
